BANCHAM, WILLIAM: Age 24 years, enlisted 20 April 1861 at New York City and mustered in as Private, Company H, 11th New York Infantry on 7 May. He deserted 1 August 1861. Also borne as Henry Buckham. No Buckham or Bancham found in the AG's roster for the 11th Infantry or any other NY unit, though possibly the same man.
