Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted in Company M, First Texas Infantry when they organized in Trinity County, and mustered for Confederate service as Private on 5 May 1862 at Sumpter, TX. He was promoted to 2nd then First Sergeant, dates not given.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in the back in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was killed by shell fire at Bermuda Hundred near Petersburg, VA in June 1864.
