He enlisted in Company A, 8th Florida Infantry on 1 April 1862 at Lafayette, FL. He was listed as a deserter from Camp Leon, FL on 30 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was captured in Maryland before 19 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of disease at a hospital in Hagerstown, MD on 19 September 1862. He was initially buried in a plot near the Alms House in Hagerstown and probably reinterred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown some years later.
