Before Antietam
Age 20, he enlisted 10 July at Elmira, and mustered as Private in Company A, 27th New York Infantry on 15 July 1861.
On the Campaign
He was with his Company in Maryland but died of disease at a hospital in Hagerstown, MD on 11 November 1862.
After the War
He was initially buried in a plot near the Alms House in Hagerstown, but was reinterred at the new Antietam National Cemetery in 1866-67.
