Age 21, he enlisted on 1 August 1861 at New York City and mustered as Private, Company C, 62nd New York Infantry on 15 August 1861.
On the Campaign
He was with his Company in Maryland but he died of disease at a hospital in Hagerstown (or Clear Spring), MD on 11 December 1862.
