Before Antietam

A 29 year old hatter from Dedham, MA, he enlisted 7 August and mustered as Private, Company I, 35th Massachusetts Infantry on 16 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was again wounded, in action at the North Anna River, VA on 24 May 1864, and transferred to Company K, 22nd Regiment, Veteran Reserve Corps on 3 February 1865. He mustered out on 4 July 1865.

After the War

By then a resident of Haverhill, he attended the 11th annual reunion of the 35th Massachusetts Regiment in 1876 at the Parker House, Boston.
