Before Antietam

A 32 year old teamster from Boston, he enlisted in Company E, 19th Massachusetts Infantry on 28 August 1861.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in the right side of his chest in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was treated at the Hoffman Farm hospital at Sharpsburg, then sent to a hospital in Philadelphia, PA, where he died of wounds on 29 September 1862.
