Before Antietam

A 25 year old laborer from Boston, he enlisted in Company E, 19th Massachusetts Infantry on 25 July 1861. He was reported missing in action at Glendale, VA on 30 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps (VRC) on 1 September 1863, and mustered out of the 227th Company, 1st Battalion, VRC on 13 August 1864.
