Before Antietam
A 35 year old painter in Lowell, he enlisted on 27 August 1861 in Company G, 19th Massachusetts Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the leg in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was treated at a hospital in a converted hotel in Frederick, MD. He returned to his Company and mustered out at the end of his term on 28 August 1864.
