Before Antietam

A 25 year old laborer from Lynn, he enlisted 26 July 1861 in Company H, 19th Massachusetts Infantry. He transferred to Company D in December 1861.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was discharged for disability on 13 December 1862. A year later he again enlisted, on 28 December 1863 in Company E, 56th Massachusetts (Veteran) Infantry. He was killed in action on the North Anna River, VA, on 24 May 1864.
