He enlisted at Niblett's Bluff, LA as a Private in Company A, 4th Texas Infantry on 18 August 1861.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September but not at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was listed as a deserter as of 30 March 1863, and a $30 reward was offered. On 1 January 1864 he was on duty and detailed as a scout to Division headquarters. He was still on that detail on the August 1864 muster roll, the last in the file.
