A 30 year old sailor in York County, he mustered as Private, Company I, 32nd Virginia Infantry on 27 May 1861 in Williamsburg.

On the Campaign

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was in a hospital at Camp Winder, Richmond, then at Farmville, VA, where he died of pneumonia on 16 November 1862.
