Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted in Robertson County as a Private in Company C, 4th Texas Infantry on 15 July 1861 and was slightly wounded in the head at Gaines Mill, VA on 27 June 1862.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

By then a Corporal, he was on furlough home in February and March 1863 and was killed in action in the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864.
