Age 19, from Bibb County, he enlisted as Private, Company A, 20th Georgia Infantry on 1 June 1861 in Macon. He was absent sick and detailed accompanying the Company baggage in August - November 1861 but was back on duty by January 1862.

On the Campaign

He was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
