Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 22 year old farmer at Gibson in Glascock County, GA. He enlisted there on 4 March 1862 and mustered as Private, Company A, 48th Georgia Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was slightly wounded in the shoulder in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was in a Richmond, VA hospital by 8 October 1862 when he was furloughed home for 30 days. He was back with his company by January 1863. He died of wounds on 1 (or 14) December 1863; places of wounding and death not given.
