Before Sharpsburg

A 19 year old clerk in New Orleans, he enlisted as First Sergeant, Company I, 10th Louisiana Infantry 22 July 1861 at Camp Moore, LA. He was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant on 17 January 1862 and First Lieutenant in August.

On the Campaign

He was senior man present in the Company after Captain Monier took command of the regiment and he commanded it at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Captain on 29 January 1863 but was killed in action at Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May 1863.
