Before Sharpsburg
A 24 year old laborer in Lake Charles, LA, he enlisted as Private, Company K, 10th Louisiana Infantry 22 July 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in the left leg and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He lost his left leg to amputation and was disabled. He was held at Fort McHenry, MD and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on 10 November 1862.
After the War
At the time of his death he was clerk of the district court in Lake Charles.
