On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was discharged for disability on 21 March 1863 but rejoined the Battery 6 August 1863. He deserted to the enemy on 28 September 1863 at Somerville, VA. He was held at the Old Capitol Prison, Washington, DC until released on an oath of allegiance on 13 December 1863. He was then a resident of Peoria, IL.
