He enlisted as Private in Company C, 5th Florida Infantry on 14 March 1862 at Camp Leon, FL.

On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot to the thigh and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was at a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD, on 12 October and transferred to Baltimore the next day. He was exchanged and furloughed home on 26 October 1862 and was discharged for wounds on 10 December 1862 in Florida.

After the War

He was a farmer in Colquitt in Miller County, GA to at least 1880, and was a clergyman there.
