Before Sharpsburg
A married 26 year old farmer, he mustered as Private, Company F, 15th Alabama Infantry on 1 March 1862 in Brundidge, AL. He was absent, sick from May to July 1862 but rejoined his Company by 9 August seeing action at Cedar Mountain, VA.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 20 October 1862 in Winchester, VA.
