Before Sharpsburg
An unmarried 21 year old clerk, he mustered as Private, Company B, 11th Alabama Infantry on 11 June 1861 in Eautaw, AL. He was wounded at Gaines' Mill, VA on 27 June 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was admitted to a hospital in Winchester, VA on 20 September, but died there of wounds on 31 October 1862.
