Age 27, from Jackson, MI, he enlisted on 15 August in Jackson, and mustered as Private, Company G, 17th Michigan Infantry on 18 August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was severely wounded in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain, MD on 14 September 1862 with no further record, presumed to have died of wounds.
