He enlisted in Waco as a Private in Company E, 4th Texas Infantry on 13 July 1861 and he was appointed Sergeant by August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was a Private again by November 1862 and was with his Company to June 1863, the last record in his file.
