Before Antietam
A 23 year old shoemaker in Haverhill, MA, he enlisted 1 August and mustered as Private, Company G, 35th Massachusetts Infantry on 17 August 1862.
On the Campaign
He was mortally wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He died of wounds on 10 October 1862 at the Camden Street Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was originally buried in Baltimore and later reinterred in Haverhill.
