Before Antietam
Previously of Easthampton, NY, then a doctor in Hartford, CT, he enlisted on 23 September 1861 and mustered as Sergeant, Company D, 11th Connecticut Infantry on 12 November 1861. He was appointed First Sergeant on 14 March 1862.
On the Campaign
He was killed in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862, age 25 years and 8 months.
