Before Sharpsburg

He enlisted at Camp Clark in Guadalupe County as a Private in Company F, 4th Texas Infantry on 11 July 1861.

On the Campaign

He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September, but was sick at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was captured at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 and afterward was a prisoner at Fort Delaware. He and Private James C. Loggins escaped in July 1864 and returned to their unit by August. He's last seen on a Richmond hospital record of 8 October 1864 and may have been furloughed to Jackson, MS.
