Before Sharpsburg
From a wealthy Memphis, TN family, he was a farmer at La Vernia in Guadalupe County, TX, by 1860, and he enlisted there as a Private in Company F, 4th Texas Infantry on 7 April 1862.
On the Campaign
He was with his Company in action at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and was reported missing, not heard from, and presumed killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
