He mustered as Private in Company E, First Texas Infantry on 6 June 1861 in New Orleans.

On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot to the left thigh and captured in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was treated at a US Army hospital in Frederick, MD from 15 October to 8 November 1862 then sent to Baltimore. No further military record.
