Before Sharpsburg
He mustered as Private in Company I, First Texas Infantry on 24 June 1861 in New Orleans. He was elected 3rd Lieutenant in the Spring of 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was promoted to First Lieutenant in Spring 1863 and commanded the Company in action at Gettysburg. He was appointed Captain that Fall and was assigned to recruiting duty in Texas in August 1864, with no further record.
