Before Sharpsburg

Age 25, from Pulaski County, he mustered as Private, Company K, 49th Georgia Infantry on 4 March 1862.

On the Campaign

He was wounded by gunshot to the left shoulder in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 while fighting with Company I of the 6th Georgia Infantry there. It's not clear why he wasn't with his own regiment at Harpers Ferry that date.

He was being treated at Chimborazo Hospital #3 in Richmond, VA by November 1862 and was furloughed for 60 days on the 22nd of that month. He was detached from his regiment in Georgia by February 1865, with no later military record.
