In 1860 he was an 18 year old worker on his parent's farm near McElvenville, Mitchell County, GA. He enlisted as a Private in Company F, 6th Georgia Infantry on 15 March 1862 at Camilla, GA.

On the Campaign

He was listed as missing in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, and was probably killed there.

The rest of the War

There is no later military record.
