He enlisted as Private, Company H, 6th Georgia Infantry on 27 May 1861.

On the Campaign

He was listed as missing in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted to Corporal, date not given, and was wounded in the neck and shoulder at Chancellorsville, VA on 3 May 1863 and treated at the Jackson Hospital in Richmond, VA. He was furloughed home into 1864 and married there in May. He may have been wounded again, in the foot in July 1864, and was surrendered at Tallahassee, FL on 10 May 1865 and paroled at Albany, GA on the 15th.

Service information from Henderson,1 as Redden A. Perry. His Sharpsburg status from a casualty list for the Regiment printed in the Southern Recorder (Milledgeville, GA) on 21 October 1862. Details from family genealogists, at least one having his name as Redmon A. Perry. His gravesite is on Findagrave.

He married Siddath Sutton (1844-1916) on 1 May 1864 in Baker County, GA, and they had 9 children together between 1865 and 1885. She died only two weeks after he did.
