Before Sharpsburg
In 1860 he was a 16 year old living with his father, siblings and 19 year old John Tidwell on their plantation (with 15 slaves) at Marion in Twiggs County, GA. Going by Isaac, he enlisted as a Private in Company I, 6th Georgia Infantry on 27 May 1861 in Atlanta.
On the Campaign
He was listed as missing in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862, but had been captured there.
The rest of the War
He was paroled at Sharpsburg on 25 September and was in a Richmond, VA hospital from 1 to 8 October, then sent to Camp Lee as a paroled prisoner. He died of typhoid fever at the receiving hospital in Gordonsville, VA on 10 January 1863.
