Before Sharpsburg

He mustered as 2nd Corporal in Company H, 4th Georgia Infantry on 26 April 1861. He was promoted 5th Sergeant on 20 May 1861.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in the head in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was promoted successively to 2nd and First Lieutenant later in 1862. He was detailed as Inspector-General to the Brigade in 1864 and was surrendered at Appomattox Court House in April 1865.

After the War

He died shortly after the war at only 26 or 27 years of age.
