From Baldwin County, he mustered as Private, Company H, 4th Georgia Infantry on 14 May 1861.
On the Campaign
He was slightly wounded in the hand in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was captured at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 and held at Ft. Delaware until he was released on 16 June 1865.
