From Baldwin County, he mustered as Private, Company H, 4th Georgia Infantry on 14 May 1862. He was captured at King's School House, VA on 25 June 1862 and exchanged at Aiken's Landing, VA on 5 August.

On the Campaign

He was slightly wounded in the hand in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was captured again, in the last days of the war at High Bridge, Va on 6 April 1865 and released at Newport News, VA on 25 June 1865.

After the War

He was living in Dooly County by 1903.
