He enlisted as a Private in Company F, 4th Texas Infantry on 11 July 1861 at Camp Clark in Guadalupe County.

On the Campaign

He was reported missing in action on South Mountaing on 14 September 1862, later presumed to be a deserter there. There is no record of his capture and there is no later record in his file. It is likely that he was killed there.
