A 25 year old farmer, he enlisted as Private, Company G, 2nd Mississippi Infantry in April 1861.

On the Campaign

He is on the Confederate Roll of Honor for bravery at "Boonsborough" (Fox's Gap) on South Mountain on 14 September - but was killed in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
