A 21 year old farmer, he enlisted as Private, Company K, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not known. He was listed on the Confederate Roll of Honor for bravery at 2nd Manassas in August 1862.

On the Campaign

He was mortally wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He died of wounds on 3 December 1862 at Mt. Jackson, VA.

His service from a casualty list/roster for the Campaign provided by Michael Brasher, from his research in Compiled Service Records, Company rolls, and other period sources; Company records show he died of his wounds on 8 March 1863 in Winchester, VA. His gravesite is on Findagrave.
