Before Sharpsburg
He enlisted at Anderson in Grimes County, TX as a Private in Company G, 4th Texas Infantry on 10 March 1862 and reported to the regiment on 1 May.
On the Campaign
He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September, but not at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was mortally wounded at Gettysburg, PA on 2 July 1863 and captured there. He died of wounds, date not given, and was probably buried on the battlefield.
After the War
He was reinterred in Richmond, among other Confederate Gettysburg casualties, probably in 1872-73.
