Before Antietam
He enlisted as Private, Company I, 106th Pennsylvania Infantry on 24 August 1861.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Antietam on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was at Gettysburg in July 1863 and was wounded again, in the Wilderness, VA on 6 May 1864. He mustered out with his Company on 10 September 1864.
