Before Sharpsburg

A former Texas Ranger, he enlisted at Anderson in Grimes County, TX as a Private in Company G, 4th Texas Infantry on 10 March 1862, and reported to the regiment on 1 May.

On the Campaign

He was in action with his Company at Fox's Gap on South Mountain on 14 September and at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was appointed 4th Corporal on 1 October 1862 and 3rd Corporal by January 1863, but there is no military record later than June 1863; he was killed at Chickamauga, GA on 20 September 1862.
