He was wounded in action on South Mountain on 14 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was furloughed and returned to duty on 10 November 1862 and was wounded again, at Gettysburg, PA on 1 July 1863. He was hospitalized in Richmond, VA and returned to duty on 15 November 1863. He was wounded at Tally's Mill on 10 May 1864 and at Bethesda Church, VA on 2 June. He was again in a hospital in Richmond and returned to duty, date not given. He was captured at Hatcher's Run, VA on 2 April 1865, held at Point Lookout, MD, and was released 27 June 1865 after taking the oath of allegiance.
After the War
He was living in Pontotoc County, MS to at least 1900.
