Before Sharpsburg

An 18 year old single farmer from Rienzi, he enlisted on 1 May 1861 in Corinth as Private, Company A, 2nd Mississippi Infantry.

On the Campaign

He was listed on the Confederate Roll of Honor for his bravery at "Boonsboro" (Fox's Gap) on South Mountain on 14 September and was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was furloughed home but returned to duty. He was wounded again, at Gettysburg, PA and again furloughed. He was captured in Tishomingo County, MS while on that furlough, date not given.
