Age 35, he enlisted in Ripley in February 1862 as Private, Company B, 2nd Mississippi Infantry.
On the Campaign
He was accidentally wounded at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was hospitalized and returned to duty. He was captured at Falling Waters, MD on 14 July 1863 and sent to Point Lookout, MD where he was paroled on 15 November 1864. He was sent to Venus Point on the Savannah River for exchange with no further record.
