Before Sharpsburg
A single 21 year old farmer, he enlisted 1 March 1862 in Ripley as Private, Company B, 2nd Mississippi Infantry. He transferred to Company F on 30 April 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was furloughed for 30 days on 11 October 1862 and returned to duty. He was killed at Gettysburg, PA on 1 July 1863.
