He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was furloughed and returned to duty. He was wounded in action at Gettysburg, PA on 3 July 1863 and was listed as a deserter from a hospital in Richmond on 25 July 1863.
