On the Campaign

He was wounded in the left thigh in action and captured at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

The rest of the War

He was paroled on 27 September and exchanged at Fortress Monroe, VA on 27 October 1862. He was furloughed for 60 days on 5 December 1862 then returned to his Company. He was furloughed from a hospital on 10 September 1864 and did not return afterward.
