Before Sharpsburg
A 19 year old student, he enlisted as Private, Company G, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not given. He was wounded at Seven Pines, VA on 31 May 1862.
On the Campaign
He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.
The rest of the War
He was furloughed and returned to his Company on 20 April 1863. He was captured at Falling Waters, MD on 14 July 1863 on the return from Gettysburg and held at Point Lookout, MD. He was exchanged on 10 February 1865.
