James B. Brookshire

A 20 year old student, he enlisted as Private, Company H, 2nd Mississippi Infantry, date not given.

He was wounded in action at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862.

He was sent to Richmond on light duty on 12 December 1864.

He married Hannah Rebecca McCombs (1852-1924) in 1871 and they had daughters Ozella Pearl (1873-1960) and Sallie Zula (1876-1976) before he died relatively young at about 35 years.
